Dear parents and carers

Year 7 Meet the Form Tutor evening

We are holding a ‘Meet the Form Tutor’ evening for parents and carers of Year 7 students on Thursday 1 October 2026, 3pm to 5pm. 

The evening will provide an opportunity for you to have a brief, one-to-one conversation with your child's form tutor. It is designed to be an informal check-in to see how your child has settled into the academy, so please don’t be concerned if they have no specific issues to raise. This is an event aimed at parents and carers but your child is welcome to come too.  

There is no need to book in advance but please be aware that you may have to wait to see your child’s form tutor.

In addition to our form tutors, key members of our pastoral and academic teams will also be available on the evening, including:

• Miss O’Connor, Assistant Vice Principal

• Miss Heslop, Assistant Vice Principal

• Miss Rehman and Miss Gough, Year 7 Heads of Year

• Ms Holmes, Academic Head of Year

• Ms Ferridge, SENDCo

Furthermore, some meetings may be scheduled by our Attendance and Behaviour teams for specific students. You will be informed separately if we would like you to attend one of these meetings.

We would also like to take this opportunity to provide an update regarding our home learning schedule for Year 7. From Monday 28th September, this will expand to include Sparx Reader alongside Sparx Maths. Sparx Reader will be set every two weeks by the English department, following the same schedule as Sparx Maths, with the expectation that students achieve 400 points over the fortnight. English teachers will be going through this with their classes next week, but students can access Sparx Reader in the same way they currently access Sparx Maths.
