Here you will find useful exams and revision information, as well as the timetable of any upcoming exams.
Year 11 students are offered 30-minute booster sessions, with subjects timetabled on the same day each week.
Top Tips for beating exam stress

Get enough sleep!
Take regular exercise
Feed your brain with healthy, regular meals
Drink plenty of fluids
Keep up iron levels
– dark green leafy vegetables, red meat, beans and seafood all contain high levels
Take plenty of short breaks
Try to leave enough time in your revision for some fun
Be realistic - do not try and do too much in one day
Chill out! When you start to feel you are losing it –take some time:
- Close your eyes, breathe deeply and slowly, Tell yourself how well you are doing
- Shake your arms, relax your shoulders to decrease tension
- Go for a walk or do some exercise
- Use sayings such as ‘calm down’ and ‘relax’

After the exams there may be feelings of relief…
…but you may feel a little anxious if things have not gone well. You may want to talk with your parents, friends or a member of staff about how you feel.
How to get your exam certificates
Certificates are presented to students at a special Presentation Evening in November after students have completed Year 11.
Students can collect their exam certificates from the Exams Officer for up to one year after they have left the academy. After this they will have to contact Awarding Bodies to obtain copies by following the links below:
AQA (English, Art, History, Photography, some languages)
Edexcel (Maths, Statistics, Science, ICT, some languages)
OCR (Child Development, Health & Social Care, Sport Science, some languages)
WJEC (Catering, Media)
Exam information for students
Key Stage 3 Assessment
In addition to exams for Key Stage 4 students, there are also various assessments for students throughout Key Stage 3.
Parents and carers will be sent their child's progress report along with an assessment rubric, a scoring grid that defines performance expectations by listing criteria and describing levels of quality (e.g. knowledge expert, proficient, adequate, emerging) with specific descriptors for each level. These rubrics ensure consistency whilst clarifying expectations.
