An Update on Home Learning

This academic year, we have expanded our home learning to give our students even more opportunities to thrive.

All year groups are now using Sparx Maths every two weeks, and Year 7 students have also started using Sparx Reader. We plan to roll Sparx Reader out to other year groups in the future, along with Sparx Science later this year.

We know how much of a difference home learning makes. Research shows that completing home learning regularly can add up to five months of extra academic progress for a student in a single year.

Thanks to your encouragement at home, our students have done brilliantly! We are proud to share that around 90% of our students are completing their home learning. For those who miss the deadline, a 'Habits detention' is held on the following Wednesday to help them get back on track.

We also know that getting schoolwork done at home isn't always easy. To make sure every child is supported, we offer spaces with computers and help after school:

  • Mondays: Home Learning Club with Mr Crain in ICT5 after school

  • Monday to Thursday: In the Reintegration Room after school

  • Monday to Wednesday: The Library is open after school until 4.15pm

Thank you so much for your continued support and partnership. Working together, we are helping our young people build great habits for a bright future.
