Letter to Year 11 parents regarding last day arrangements

Information about the plans for the last day, the Leavers' Assembly, uniform and shirt signing, attendance and the new Education Record App.

Dear Parents and Carers,
New Education Record App

During tutor time on Monday 2nd June, Year 11 students will have the opportunity to sign up for the Department for Education’s new Education Record App. The app gives students quick digital access to their GCSE results, making college enrolment much faster and easier.

To download the app, students will be given special permission to use their mobile phones, and WiFi will be made available (during this session only). This is entirely voluntary, and students are under no obligation to download the app if they prefer not to.

The plan for the last day

The last day in school for Year 11 will be Monday 15th June.

This is a big milestone for our young people! We are so proud of how hard they have worked preparing for and sitting their final exams. We want to make sure their last day is a positive, happy, and safe experience for everyone.

The morning will begin with the Physics exams. Free breakfast will be available in Diner 3.

After the exam, we will hold a short Leavers' Assembly. This is a special time for students and staff to come together, celebrate their time here, and say their goodbyes.

Students who do not have an afternoon exam will leave at 12.35pm. To keep everyone safe, we ask that all students head straight home once they leave the site.

Uniform and shirt signing

We know that signing shirts is a long-standing tradition! To make sure the day runs smoothly:

  • Full Uniform: Students must wear their full, correct school uniform for the entire day.

  • Shirt Signing: Students are not allowed to wear decorated or signed shirts during their exam. If your child would like a shirt to be signed, they can bring a spare or pre-decorated shirt to the Heads of Year office up to a week before the final day. These will be kept safe and given back for the celebration following the Physics exam.

  • No Bags: Students do not need to bring school bags with them on this day.

  • Remaining exams: Students who still have exams after 15th June need to be in full school uniform for all exams.

Remaining exams from 15th June onwards:

Attendance

It is extremely important that students continue to attend school on time every day until after the Leavers’ Assembly on 15th June 2026.

Please note:

  • If a student arrives after the register closes at 9.00am (U code - Late) more than twice they will not be allowed to attend the Leavers’ Assembly.

  • If a student needs to leave for an appointment following a morning exam, medical evidence must be provided, otherwise they will not be allowed to attend the Leavers’ Assembly.

  • Students will not be allowed to attend the Leavers’ Assembly if they have more than one day off without medical evidence.

Returning borrowed items

If your child has an academy Chromebook or library book at home, these should be returned to us on or before Monday 15th June. If your child’s lunch account is overdrawn, please ensure the account is settled using the Arbor Parent Portal: https://coopmanchester.uk.arbor.sc/

We would also appreciate donations for our uniform exchange. We accept all items of uniform and PE kit. Items should be clean and gently used (no holes or stains, with working zips or buttons). Donations can be dropped off during the school day at reception. We would specifically like to ask for donations of Year 11 ties that can be shared with future students who may struggle to purchase one.

Thank you for your continued support over the last five years. We’re excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 and all they have achieved together!

Warm regards,

Co-op Academy Manchester
