From Year 11 to Oxford: A Glimpse into the Future

Year 11 students Angel and Harleen recently traded Manchester for the historic streets of Oxford. They spent a wonderful weekend at Somerville College, getting a real taste of what life is like at one of the world’s top universities.
The trip was packed with opportunities. They took part in high-level maths sessions with expert teachers, helping them feel much more prepared for their upcoming exams. They also learnt important ways to handle exam stress and even took part in a "Dragon’s Den" style competition. We are very proud to share that Angel and Harleen were on the winning team!
Beyond the classroom, they explored the city, visited the History of Science Museum, and enjoyed life on a university campus. For Angel, it was a chance to reconnect with friends and realise she isn't alone in feeling nervous about the future. Harleen felt the trip was a huge boost for her independence.
It was such a relief to know that people my age are going through the same worries as me in regard to their academic future.

We want our pupils to know that these famous universities are places where they belong. By meeting experts and exploring new cities, our students gain the confidence to aim high. Whether it's through winning a business challenge or mastering a tricky maths problem, Angel and Harleen have shown that our students can achieve anything they set their minds to.
I'd love to experience it all over again, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested!
