Welcome to the Little Green Cabin!

At Co-op Academy Manchester, we know that supporting our students means supporting our whole community. That is why we are so proud to introduce the Little Green Cabin.

The cabin is a warm, welcoming space designed to support local families, reduce waste, and bring people together.

It is open to everyone in our community, and you do not need to register or have a referral to visit.

At the cabin, you will find:

  • Community Fridge: Free surplus food donated by local businesses. This is not a food bank, but a shared space to stop good food from being thrown away.

Last term alone, our community saved over 600 kg of food from going to waste!

  • School Pantry: Free store-cupboard staples (like tins and packets) and personal hygiene items (including shower gel and sanitary products). There is a small limit on how much you can take, just to make sure there is enough to go around.

  • Book Swap: Bring a book you have finished, and take a new one home to read.

  • Seed Swap: Share seeds and start growing your own plants at home.

Projects like this matter because they make sure our families have everyday essentials, while showing our young people the importance of looking after our environment and caring for one another.

Where to find us: Co-op Academy Manchester (Access via Gate 1)

Opening times (term time only):

  • Wednesday and Thursday: 11.30am - 12.30pm

  • Friday: 3.30pm - 4.00pm

We look forward to seeing you at the Little Green Cabin soon!
