The primary goal is to help our teachers understand exactly what students know. This allows us to tailor our support and ensure everyone hits the ground running when they begin Year 10.

While many subjects will be assessed during regular lesson time, we want to give students the experience of a formal setting for Maths and Science. These will take place on the following dates:

• Wednesday 6th May: Maths Paper 1 & Science

• Thursday 7th May: Maths Paper 2

We understand that the word "exam" can sometimes cause some nerves. Please reassure your child that these assessments are a valuable method for us to work out what they know and where any gaps in knowledge may lie. They are designed by our Trust Subject Directors to be fair and accessible, focusing on the progress they have made throughout key stage 3 (Years 7-9).

Our staff will be on hand to support students throughout the week, ensuring they feel prepared, calm and ready to do their best.
