Sports Day - Tuesday 8 July 2025

We are delighted to be able to confirm the details for our 2025 Sports Day. All students will be attending the event and will be out of the academy for the entire day.
Date: Tuesday 8 July 2025
Time: Departing 8:30am, returning around 3:00/3:30pm (traffic dependent)
Location: Manchester Regional Arena, Etihad Campus, Rowsley St, Manchester M11 3FF
We are very proud of the sporting heritage in Manchester and take great pleasure in being able to provide our students with the opportunity to participate and compete at world-class track and field facilities; the Regional Arena has hosted the Paralympic World Cup and the annual National Athletics Trials.
Please note the following important information regarding the day:
-
Students will travel to the arena on coaches with academy staff.
-
Students should come to school in full academy PE kit. They will wear it for the entire day and should also bring an outdoor jacket or coat.
-
We recommend students bring sun cream - it is their responsibility to ensure it is applied when required.
-
Students must bring a packed lunch that is suitable for a full-day outdoor sporting event. If your child receives free school meals they will be able to get a packed lunch from school (if they have requested one in advance).
-
Students should bring sufficient water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
-
There will be no opportunity to purchase food or drink at the arena.
There is limited shelter at the arena, therefore students will be exposed to the elements; your cooperation in preparing your child for a variety of weather conditions is greatly appreciated.
If we have not already received a PC1 form for your child, please ensure you complete and return one to us before Friday 4 July. Forms are available from Reception or your child’s Head of Year. Any students we don’t have a PC1 form for will remain in the academy.
If you have any questions regarding Sports Day please get in touch.
Finally, I hope your child thoroughly enjoys the experience of Sports Day at the Manchester Regional Arena!
Yours sincerely
Mrs Locke
Director of Physical Education
