Year 10 benefit from a dedicated "Life after Year 11" week

More than 30 organisations joined us to deliver an information-packed week of activities for Year 10 students, designed to get them thinking about "Life after Year 11".

Students benefitted from mock interviews with industry professionals, for which they had to complete application forms and prepare for in advance.

Confident, polite, excellent answers. Will make a great employee.

They worked on their CVs and personal statements for college and took part in lessons that encouraged them to think about their essential skills for the workplace.

Clear understanding of the right attitudes to work

Colleges and further education providers set up information stands in the Theatre, at a fair designed to inform students about the options available to them post-16.

Lots of aspiration, polite, chatty, authentic

And the week was rounded off with a careers fair at which students were able to talk with businesses to explore future career paths.

Thank you to the businesses and education providers that gave up their time to support our students, and well done to Year 10 for getting stuck into the week and pushing themselves outside their comfort zones.
