Update regarding uniform changes from September 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
Uniform Changes from September 2025
Following the letter we recently shared with you on behalf of Nick Lowry, Regional Director (Manchester and Oldham), I would like to provide you with some additional information regarding uniform.
From September 2025, students will have the option to wear black trousers OR a black pleated skirt with black tights of at least 40 denier.
A number of other schools have moved towards a trouser-only approach for all students, but we believe it is important to give our students a choice. We do, however, encourage all students to take the option to wear trousers, as we believe they are more practical for all year-round wear, e.g. cooler in the summer.
In order to keep uniform costs low, parents may purchase trousers from whichever supplier they choose, but please note, we do not allow students to wear leggings, jeans, tight skinny trousers, canvas, linens or yoga-style trousers. To help avoid making the wrong purchases for September, please refer to the pictures below:
We appreciate that there may be a few days each year when temperatures are much higher than normal. We will continue to relax our uniform policy on these days, as we have done this academic year. If this happens, we will inform parents and carers of this decision in advance and make it clear what acceptable uniform will be required on those days, eg. no blazer, or, on very rare occasions, academy PE kit may be worn. We will continue to follow the Academy behaviour policy for any students who arrive at school with incorrect or missing items of uniform.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any issues with the cost of uniform, or you wish to request an amendment to the uniform for your child in relation to their protected characteristics.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely
Allan Glover
Principal
