Report your child's absence on Arbor

If your child is absent, please click on 'attendance' in Arbor and then 'Log absence' - this will help us add the absence quickly.

This method will go straight the attendance team, whilst messages can sometimes take longer to come through.

Prom - reminder of key points

We are delighted to announce that the Year 11 Prom will take place on the evening of Thursday 3 July. The venue will be kept a secret to add to the excitement!

  • The evening will begin at the academy at 5pm, where students will enjoy a red carpet entrance and welcome drinks.
  • They will then be transported to the secret venue to celebrate their time at the academy.
  • Students will be transported back to the academy for 10:30pm.

Prom tickets & payments

  • Tickets will cost £30 to cover the costs of the venue and transport.
  • Ticket payments must be made via Arbor and can be purchased between now and the 30 June. It is possible to pay in installments.
  • Please look for the trips button on the Arbor app or find trips within the Activities section of the Arbor Parent Portal. A general step-by-step guide from Arbor is available here.
  • If you haven’t started using Arbor yet to monitor your child’s behaviour logs and lunch payments, please find information on getting started here.

Please note: the Senior Leadership team has the right to withdraw any students who fail to meet any of the criteria below. The academy will not be responsible for reimbursing costs of prom dresses etc. if your child cannot attend.

Prom Eligibility Criteria:

To ensure the prom is a celebration for students who have demonstrated positive engagement and behaviour throughout the year, the following criteria will apply:

Students must have accumulated a sufficient number of positive behaviour points to attend.

Positive points can be earned by:

  • Arriving at school on time.
  • Being punctual to all lessons.
  • Actively participating in lessons.
  • Attending all mock and real exams.
  • Attending XL booster sessions.

Exclusion from Prom:

  • Students who do not attend lessons regularly will not be permitted to attend.
  • Students who are suspended for a breach of the behaviour policy, or who exhibit extreme/dangerous behaviours that could pose a risk on the evening, will not be allowed to attend.

Positive Behaviour Raffle: As an incentive, students with the highest number of positive behaviour points will be entered into a raffle. The winner and their chosen friends will travel to the venue in style in a limousine provided by the academy at no extra charge.

A snapshot of academy life.

We are almost at the halfway mark with our current Brilliant Club project - linking students to PhD researchers!

Last week, students were learning about Essentialism through the medium of photography - they completed lots of group work and participated in sophisticated debates!
