With regard to the planned strike action due to commence on Friday 10th October, Saturday 11th October, Monday 13th October and Saturday 18th October 2025, please note the following update:

  • Staff at First Rochdale have decided to suspend their strike action – all bus services operated by First Rochdale are expected to operate as normal on the above strike dates.
  • Staff at Stagecoach have decided to re-commence their strike action.
  • Staff at Metroline have decided to continue with their strike action.

We expect that all of your dedicated school buses will operate as normal on all schooldays.

However, some general bus services operated by Stagecoach Manchester will be affected by strike action, along with some services in Tameside, Stockport and other areas in south Manchester which are operated by Metroline.

This information is as up-to-date as possible. However, we do strongly advise that for updates on all affected bus services (including schools and general bus services) that you direct parents/carers, pupils and staff to TfGM’s dedicated webpage: www.beenetwork.com/bus-industrial-action
